Our Mission
Interfaith Business Builders, an organization of people from the Cincinnati faith community, is focused on the development and promotion of employee-owned,
cooperative businesses in Cincinnati’s low income neighborhoods.
Our Vision
Healthy societies require healthy communities where people share bonds
of trust and cooperation.
We aspire to educate and empower people who want to build cooperative
businesses and make a financial commitment to the communities in which
they live and work.
Our Goals
- Educate ourselves, the members of the cooperatives,
and the general public about the values, functions and benefits
of cooperative businesses.
- Create new, employee-owned, small businesses
which are based upon trust, responsible behavior and economic
initiative.
- Create
new jobs, especially for low income people, by starting cooperative businesses.
- Teach business skills and
build financial capacity in low income communities.
- Teach democratic
organizational skills through use of a cooperative ownership
business structure.
- Teach skills in cooperation, competition, community and
leadership.
- Build community collaborations that cross racial, cultural,
religious, and economic divides.
